The warranty text recorded for this range describes a five-year limited warranty on the LED, the driver and the fixture. It is reproduced here in summary, as a description of the terms that accompanied the products — not as an offer.
LED product and driver
The terms warranted to the original purchaser, against proof of purchase, that delivered products would be free from defects in material and workmanship for the stated term, counted from the date of shipment. The remedy was repair or, at the manufacturer’s option, replacement of the defective product during that period. It applied only to repair or replacement, and only where the product had been handled, installed and maintained according to instruction.
LED failures
For the diodes themselves the term was likewise five years from shipment, with repair or replacement of a fixture triggered by more than three simultaneous LED failures in that fixture. “Failure” was defined narrowly as a non-operating LED — not a dimmed or colour-shifted one.
Paint and finish
A separate five-year limited term covered the finish, with repair or replacement if it showed cracking, peeling, excessive fading or corrosion. It applied to the finish alone, and only where the product had been handled, stored, installed and exposed to normal environmental conditions.
Exclusions and conditions
- Defects caused by improper handling, storage or installation were excluded.
- Acts of God, fire, vandalism and civil disturbance were excluded.
- Field labour and service charges connected with a repair or replacement were excluded.
- The purchaser had to give written notice within 60 days of noticing a defect.
- The warranty period could be changed without prior notice, and all warranties not stated in the limited warranty were expressly disclaimed.
Read as a document rather than a promise, the structure is typical of LED luminaire warranties of that period: a single term across diode, driver, housing and finish, a failure threshold expressed in dead diodes per fixture, and labour left outside the cover.
